one week before cruise

Hello all.
Going on a cruise next summer, departing from Southampton. I live in Los Angeles. I want to spend the week before the cruise departure date traveling. My wife is not keen on doing England (already visited) and she feels that a week is not enough for an entire country like Scotland.
Newfoundland? Bermuda? Anywhere between LA and London is open! Thanks so much for any suggestions!

I don't understand. Why not Scotland but pick only one or two cities? Why do you have to try to see "an entire country"?

In Summer, The Netherlands and Belgium. Beautiful, unique, great for a week, easy to fly into and easy to get to England from either country. I think you can take a ferry to Southampton.
