Maui - 6-7 days too long?

Is 6-7 nights in Maui too long? I don't plan to visit any other Hawaiian islands and I am coming from Boston.

Also, a friend of mine lives in Pa'ia who I'd like to visit. If I stay in a larger resort in Lahaina or Wailea, will Pa'ia be accessible?

Thank you!

Yes. I'm originally from Boston. I can tell you that this island can't even be seen in 6-7 months. Too long? Not close. You'll be fine with the Paia trip too. It may be an hour drive from Lahiana, and 3-40 minutes from Wailea, but it's worth it. Plus you'll want to hook up with your friend to have them take you to the best waterfalls. I'm sure they know the best spots, ones not known by tourists.

You'll have a great time.

Maui is a wonderful place! I was lucky enough to stay there for 6 weeks in 2000 staying with a friend. Yes, you will have a wonderful time - stay there as long as you can. I went to the top of the volcano area for sunset, travelled the Road to Hana and went up in a helicopter to see most of the island. I stayed in Lahaina. I hope you have a wonderful trip Anything you want to know, please ask although I appreciate I stayed there 7 years ago so some things may have changed!

6-7 nights is definately not too long to stay in maui especially if traveling all the way from boston.

Really staying for a very short period of time if traveling all the way from the east coast is not worth it considering the flight is about 10 hours. Even though you get in the same day remember by the time you reach maui that first day is pretty much shot as you will more than likely get in , in the afternoon and probably be a little tired from the long flight.

There is lots to see and do in maui for that period of time. I am from Oahu and every time we go over to maui I never quite feel like I made the trip long enough..in fact last trip I booked for 5 nights and ended up extending twice while we were there.

You will love maui...there is something about that island that just pulls you back time and time again and makes it so hard to leave.

Good luck and safe travels.

No way, you're going to enjoy all there is to do on the island. A Luau is an absolute must when visiting.

And, there's snorkeling, Surfing, hiking, and if you can I recommend you do the Submarine Adventure!! It's very cool.

I'm not sure if you booked your hotel yet, but the The Ritz-Carlton, is BEAUTIFUL!!! Try Booknow.com.

Enjoy your stay, I wish I was going.
