how to add my photo to my passport renewal application?
ON the official website, there is a hotlink to a topic entitled something like "how to add your photo to your application." - but the hot link led me to a non-working page?
Is there something I must do, other than staple the photo in the four places stated on the application form?
Thanks for any help you can give me

The information is right there in the downloaded form/instruction -- staple the photos where it is indicated. It even shows you exactly where the staples should go. Not sure what your confusion is . . . .

Here's some help. When asking a question on an international forum, state what country etc. you are talking about. It may come as a surprise to you but not everyone who uses a forum is from the same country as you. In other words, the world does not revolve around you.
Second, a forum is not a chat room. Asking a question and then coming back 43 minutes later expecting an answer as if it were a chat room is not always going to work. So don't post questions in forums that you need an answer to that quickly. In some instanaces it may take days for answer to be posted. Shock, horror, that you would have to wait that long.

HOW did you KNOW the OP was American janisj? Just where in his question did s/he indicate that? Where did s/he indicate s/he was applying for a US Passport? You ASSUMED the OP was American as so many American posters ASSUME everyone who posts here is.
That assumption is very annoying to those who are not arrogant enough to assume such things.

Wow. Some people think they are the forum police.
***5. Provide One Passport Photo
To avoid processing delays, be sure your photo meets all the requirements and is properly submitted with your application.
When attaching your passport photo to Form DS-82, be sure you:
Staple the photo to the application. Use 4 staples vertically in the corners as close to the outer edges as possible.
Do not bend the photo.***
It's depressing putting those photos on and realizing how much you've aged since the last one. Have a glass of wine.
