Help! Non-Beach Wedding in Jan 08

Hi!
Does anyone have suggestions for a non-beach, non-snow place honeymoon destination for the end of January 2008?

Anything that is not solely beaches or full of snow would be great. I am at clueless!!

Have you ever thought of a Private Island in the Titicaca Lake in Peru? just you and your partner in the island?? It is not a beach climate, the weather is so NOT BEACH LIKE! You have sun but it is not hot! it is just warm... you will love the most romatic sceneries in the andes. Or a night in the hotel at the bottom of Machu Picchu!! An amazing romantic experience... if you are interested, contact me!

Hi

South Africa can be an option. Cape Town is wonderful and can offer sights, mountains, wine lands, beaches etc. And if you move a bit further away you can go on safaris

Hi!

Have you looked into Australia? Our winter is their summer and they have so much to offer - wildlife viewing, wine tasting, active adventures, luxury hotels, beautiful cities, the Great Barrier Reef, art museums, great restaurants.

Best Regards,
Julia

Belize has beached, jungle, waterfalls and mayan sites where you can have an original wedding.

I believe toucanlulu.com weddings do wedding planning at any location even on top of majestic mayan ruins in the rainforest check them out.

Belize would be perfect.

How about Turkey and in particular Cappadocia. Land of fairy chimneys ! Can not promise for a snow free land but snow is effective usually two days and landscape is magical and its in a way a holly land....... Many ancient monastries & churches with frescoes and underground cities etc.
Good Luck, and congratulations.

What´s about a wedding really in the bush. At "leopard hill lodge" in south africa. They make it possible, and if you don´t want any honeymoon stuff they make also that possible..You just have to tell them directly what you like. We married there in June and it better than we imagined. Although we had some wishes which are not "the normel packages".

I agree that a honeymoon in the African bush is the most romantic thing that you can do. The lasge staff are brilliant at creating romance for you. And the wilderness of nature and animals all around you is thrilling ! Jan is peak summer season though, so can be really hot. Make sure you stay in a lodge with aircon. Let me know if you want more specific advice...?
