First wedding anniversary in late August - romantic trip ideas?
It will be our first wedding anniversary in late August this year. We're currently trying to come up with ideas for a romantic trip to mark the occasion. We are hoping to move house around the same time so trip length/cost will depend on this. However, we have come up with a few options so far -
Shorter trips (3-7 days): Paris or Venice.
Longer trips (2 weeks) : Hawaii, Maldives, Thailand, Greek Islands etc
I must add that i really feel the need to make this trip as special as possible as after our first anniversary we are hoping to start a family so this might be our last romantic trip alone for a while!
Does anyone have any ideas to add? We are really open to anything! Must be good weather though

Well, I think many will agree that Paris is probably one of the most romantic cities in the world. And, you could probably do it justice in a week.
I believe that any of your longer trip choices also would be quite romantic.
However, "romance" isn't dependent on the place. It can happen ANYWHERE!

tomfuller - yes, we had a wonderful honeymoon (we went to Egypt) but there are so many places in the world we haven't visited we like to keep moving forward and go somewhere new each time we take a trip.

My wife and I are on our 37th this year we find our fav romantic spots to be www.venice-tourism.com www.bauervenzia.com from the 200 euro range on www.otel.com www.booking.com incredibly romantic for us we are headed back to Venice this year. Also going to www.Parisvoice.com intercontinental.com "Le Grand" from 300 euro we snagged on points by getting ihg.com new Priority Club Business Card
60000 points with first use saved us lots of money.
Might consider a combo of those 2 more romantic than all the others for us. We are taking easyjet.com CDG VCE for 39 euro between the 2. Training down through the alps from Paris via Geneva Alps Simplon Pass Stresa Garda Venice can be lots of fun and romantic.DAY trains are fun we see a lot. Sleepers not so much. seat61.com Trip Cover a must for us.
flyopenskies.com xl.com good prices on PAR flights this year.
Happy Trails and Congrats PM if I may help many do.
