Affordable January Trip Ideas

Hello travel pros!

I am searching for a place to celebrate my birthday in January. Ideally it will be a warm, affordable destination. If there's some local fun/festival happening, that would be great too. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you!!!

Define "affordable" - give a dollar range for your travel budget.

How long a trip are you planning?

Where are you traveling from?

Are you willing to travel internationally?

What type of activities interest you?

Traveling from Philadelphia at the end of January for a week, possibly more. Absolutely willing to go international. Cultural celebrations are of interest and anything near water. For now, I'll focus less on affordable, more on fun, warm places in January. Thanks for the Mexico, Thailand and Tunisia suggestions!

Liberia will be warm and is dirt cheap. You can probably even find really cheap flights, too.

Sparkchaser, I presume the suggestion of Liberia is a sarcastic reference to the Ebola outbreak there. If so, not funny. People are dying.

People are dying everywhere.

Andalusia is warm compared to Philly in January and it's fairly inexpensive. It's definitely sunny.

Belize is warm and inexpensive and has the benefit that English is the official language.
