Warm in January

Looking for a recommendation for somewhere warm for an extra long weekend in January. Key West and Puerto Rico are out - too expensive.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Live in New England.

How "warm" do you have to be?

Do you need "guaranteed warmth". If so and traveling in January you have to travel outside the continental US and that could be expensive so you have to define in terms of dollar what "too expensive" means to you.

How much do you want to pay? How warm does it have to be?

In general if a place is warm in January it will be high season and therefore more expensive than other time of year.

Where are you traveling from and does it have to be Florida?

They live in New England. We live in central FL and never turned the heat on last year. We could have a cold snap, just never know. New Smyrna Beach is nice and reasonable. Many nice rentals Beach side. Check VRBO.

It you want warm in January, check out last minute cruises out of Fort Lauderdale. You can get cruises that are far cheaper than renting condos with maid service and food included. We spend most of January on Caribbean cruises each year. Often as low as $200/night or a little less.

I think you're going to have to specify just how warm is warm enough. Anything south of DC is going to be a lot warmer than where you live. Do you want to be in bathing suits, or what?
