taxi costs in Lima

Anybody know approximately what it should cost to take a taxi from the Lima airport to Plaza de Armas in El Centro, from there to Miraflores, and from Miraflores back to the airport? These are 3 separate cab rides. Thanks!

About $15 US from the airport to anywhere in Lima (maybe a bit more Miraflores to the airport).

That's a bit high to get from Centro to Miraflores, more like 15-20 soles ($5-7)

we recently had hired Goerin Coral (recommended by a friend) who charged us either !5 or 20 dollars from airport to Miraflores and also picked us us back to the airport the next day. Taxis from miraflores to centro and back are very cheap but have the hotel `call someone they know and they will tell what is the standard price. more important to be a trustworthy driver but they are very cheap.his e-mail: [email protected]

this information is really helpful.

My family of 4 with suitcases will arrive in Lima in a few weeks. Will a typical taxi hold all of us, or should we make special arrangements for pick-up to go to our hotel?

Thanks!

They have minivans as well as taxis. I think with 4 people and luggage it will be tight in a car, although some of the hotels use mini stations wagons. If your hotel offers a good price, fine, if not there are the official "green taxis" at the airport with posted prices so you don't have to haggle. It really isn't recommended to go outside the airport and haggle with the drivers outside. Not only is it a crazy scene, they may or may not be legit.
