Share your S. America Itinerary
Looking to go to S. America in Dec/Jan
8 - 10 days
Like beach, adventure, culture
Prefer to travel to at least 2 countries w/in S. America
That is all I know...where have you been? Why did you love it? What can I fit in with 8 - 10 days (more towards 10).
How is pricing? airfare? hotels etc.
Just starting....thanks

I don't think your expectations are reasonable...2 countries, that include beach, adventure in 10 days??
Any particular reason why you want to go to 2 countries in such a short amount of time other than to say you have been to 2 countries? If you're really intent on 2 countries in that short amount of time I'd say Buenos Aires and Uruguay (neither my favourite) or Mexico and Belize.
I think you're better off spending the time in one place like Rio - great beaches, lots of culture, great people music, food.
Or perhaps Yuctan and Chipias in Mexico -good beaches, ruins and culture.
Not sure what your definition of adventure is.

Hello,
I would say 5 days in Rio and 5 days in Buenos Aires... the flights between the 2 places will probably be around $400, the beaches in Argentina arent any good, Punta del Este is ok, but its kind of overhyped as the "Ibiza of South America" so I wouldnt bother...! Buenos Aires is an amazing city; tango, lots of museums, monuments, tree and cafe-lined avenues, beautiful parks, cobbled streets, bars, clubs, and v.decent hotels for $70 and up or plenty of hostels to choose from! in 5 days you'll get a good impression of the city and you could spend the other 5 relaxing on the beach and exploring Rio!
Hope that helps!

That time of year is good for Patagonia (e.g. Torres Del Paine). Not only is it warmer, there is also much more daylight, meaning that the hikes don't have to go as fast. I would suggest either Torres Del Paine or the Perito Moreno glacier, plus Buenos Aires and Iguazu Falls (which you can easily do as a full-day trip from Buenos Aires).

mistadobalina - where are those places?? I don't even know within each country!
Oceania, I don't need to travel to two but wanted to get info to see if it was even feasible. We love outdoor adventure - white water rafting, zip lining, kayaking etc. I am not too big on museums. Perhaps Brazil is the best route to go and travel within the country??
Just back from Costa Rica where we stayed at 3 different cities - I like to see and navigate throughout to get a well rounded experience.
What about Venezuela?
