Logistics-Las Lajas, hot springs, & eje cafetero
I will be arriving to Bogota at the end of August and can stay for up to 10 days (still need to get my return flight). My main interest is to visit the Santuario de Las Lajas, but if possible I would like to visit some hot springs and, if time allows, the eje cafetero. I would like to spend at least 3 days around the Sanctuary area and I know that weekends are busy so will probably get there during the week.
****My main question right now is that Im not sure if it will be better to fly to Ipiales at the beginning of the trip, or stay in Bogota for a couple of days (a visit to Santa Bárbara Centro church and the Divino Niño Sanctuary are a must) and travel to the hot springs or eje cafetero and leave the Santuario to the very end of the trip? To where we should fly to get access to the hot springs? The termales de Nevado Ruiz sounds like a great place but willing to check other options.****
****I'm a little confused as to whether there are hot springs in the eje cafetero and if there are, which ones would be the best to visit. Or if it would be better to go to another region. If I have to choose between visiting the eje or the hot springs, the later is definitively more important. Not looking for spa services, just real hot spring water in either natural setting or pool.****
And also, any recommendations suggestions for this trip either for the Las Lajas Sanctuary, Bogota & hot springs are welcome!
