We will be in Iguazu for 2 nights (basically one full day and two evenings). We have already booked our hotel (in town) and our flights. I have been corresponding with an agent who is offering the following for $250 pp. Package includes the following:

Round trip airport transfers in Iguazu, tour to the falls going to both circuits, upper and lower. Upper circuit includes the open train ride and visit of the Devil's throat and lower circuit includes the visit of the different falls with your bilingual guide. Ticket entrance to national park included for as well. All taxes are included. A Tour of the Triple Frontier is also included. This is where you see the 3 Countries meet and the 2 rivers joining together. Evidently this is a scenic spot.
Can anyone give me an idea if this is a resonable price? I have looked at a few websites to try and compare, but most tours include Brazil which we are not doing.
Any help and or suggestions would be appreciated.

Seems very expensive and I am not sure that you actually need a guide for the falls. The entrance fee to the park is 130 peso pp (say $30 US)and buses go from the bus station in town to the park every 20 mins or so. A taxi to thye park will probably cost around 50 pesos, Once in the park a guide is IMO of limited value as it is really easy to find your way around. The only added value you appear to be getting isaiport transfers and the "Tour of the Triple Frontier" (never heard of this & so can't really comment.

if you do want a tour then most of the hostals in town will offer on the day them for almost certainly less than $250.

I agree with Crellston and I can add that the 3 Frontiers is interesting for a few minutes and easy to get to with a Taxi.

We stayed in town and took taxis to the Argentine park and to the Brazilian park - as well as to 3 Frontiers and airport transfers. One day we took a bus - also easy.

None of it was very expensive. You definitely do not need a Guide in the Park itself. It's really great; enjoy yourselves.

I have done Iguazu with and without a guide. Crellston is spot on. A guide is of limited value. Trails are well marked and easy to follow. Save yourself some money and buy an extra bottle or two of Malbec in the evenings.
