Galapagos baggage restrictions
I am flying in Business Class from the USA to Quito (Copa) connecting to Baltra (Aerogal/Avianca). The airlines baggage allowance is 2 pieces of luggage up to 70 lbs each.
However, I have seen references to a Galapagos specific limitation of 1 piece of luggage up to 44 lbs.
Does this limitation apply in my case?
What happens if you are over the limit? Can you extra? If so, what is the cost?
Thank you

Who on earth needs more than 44 lbs of luggage? Are you seriously considering taking 140 lbs?
What you are allowed on your business class tickets getting to/from Ecuador has nothing to do with travel out to the islands. You are limited to a 44 lb bag and small carry on period. .And that is very generous - I had a total of 23 lbs when I went (and I flew business as well)

Galapagos baggage
No, I am not planning on taking 140 lbs, just wondering how careful I need to be.
Do the authorities who inspect the Galapagos luggage check the weight? Or, is the weight checked by airline personnel?
Thanks
