Flight connection time from Santiago to Rapa Nui

Hello - I am arriving at Santiago airport from the US at 7:50 am and am wondering if it feasible to catch the 10:30 am flight on LAN to Rapa Nui. Does anyone know if 2 hrs 40 minutes is enough time to clear immigration / customs, retrieve luggage, and check in for the flight? Thanks in advance!

Can't answer your specific question re a connection, but we flew thru Santiago a few times and it was quick and easy. This includes our arrival from the US. Hopefully one of the locals can give you a better answer.

I think it might be a bit tight. A lot depends on the time of year and how many other flights are on the ground too. You will have to go through passport control wait for luggage and then customs, go up to the third level to check in. If you are flying LAN to Chile they might offer to give you your boarding passes for both flights and to get your luggage onto the EI flight directly after customs, but I wouldn't count on it. Having said that, I would chance it if I had three hours. You have less but might be comfortable with that.

Thanks yestravel!

Thanks Huentetu! We are visiting in late November and arriving from the US on American Airlines. I typically plan ample / extra time for connections, but wasn't sure how big the airport is and how easy it is to connect.

The airport is all one terminal, international and domestic. Arrivals is on the first level and departures on the third. November should not be too bad for crowds as it is before the Christmas rush or the summer crowds. American often comes in a bit before schedule.
