www.virtualtourist.com › Travel Guides › South America › Chile - Cached

www.saexplorers.org

good info for you.

Cheapest flights are booked internally when you get there

www.despegar.com careful many scammers long expensive flights

prefer to self guide cheapest lots of cute little

cabanas that will cut u deals when you get there.

very expensive to use middlemen locals get little revenue

so I always go local and go direct similar to the Galapagos.

Which are FAR prettier and more interesting to me

EcoAventura cruises www.guanguiltagua.com or local says

cheaper better more to see for me.

Happy Travels!

We had a fabulous guide - Josie Nahoe Mulloy - she is the granddaughter of William Mulloy, an archeologist/anthropologist from the original Thor Heyerdahl expedition who went on to devote his life's studies to Easter Island and re-erecting the Moai.

I traveled solo to Easter Island; I had only three days on the island and certainly could have spent more time, but really enjoyed both the guided portion (arranged through Tau'raa Hotel) and my time spent walking and discovering. Here's my trip report that might give you some additional insight: http://www.fodors.com/community/sout...rip-report.cfm
