orthopedic medical check in Cusco during our vacation trip

Our 9 years old daughter accidentally broke a bone of her hand yesterday and she will need an orthopedic medical check with x-ray while we will be visiting Cusco in 18 days. Which hospital or clinic would you suggest ? Usually we should do it here in our country once back home, but this would be in 30 days from now which is a bit too late !
I have found a couple of hospital, including Hospital Regional, and 6 clinics but I do now know which one to pick ! thanks !

was not clear but Miraflores/San Isidro area in Lima best for high quality medical care if an elective visit would go there.

thank you very much.
We will be in Lima a bit too soon, earlier than 18 days from today, when the splint has to be removed and new x-ray check has to be done, that's why I was concentrated on Cusco hospital or clinic and not Lima. Any suggestions for Cusco ?

Hospital Regional is the large public hospital in Cusco. Anything called a "Clinica" is probably a private hospital. It will cost more than the state facilities, but probably will be less than the out-of-pocket charges you'd pay at a hospital back home. Clinica Pardo is well known among the private facilities in Cusco. I have no personal experience receiving care there.

You're going to have your hometown facility do some type of referral or transfer of your daughter's medical records, right? No health facility anywhere is going to remove a splint and do x-rays without access to records about the original accident.

yes, we will take all records of the accident.

thanks for all the info. Clinica Pardo looks good. I will try to contact them by email but most of them return undelivered.

If the E-mails are not going through, call them. You have to give them some advance notice here. They will very likely refuse to do anything unless they can confer in advance with your hometown physician. You're not going to be able to simply show up at the clinic with X-rays and records and expect them to take off the splint and go from there. It's not the kind of procedure you can have done as a walk-in patient anywhere.

I am not a doctor nor do I have any in depth knowledge of the quality of medical facilities in Cusco. However, I have broken bones in my hands on a couple of occasions. The bones in the hands are extremely mobile and if not dealt with correctly can cause problems both immediately and in later life (I would have thought that this was even more important in a child where the bones are still growing).

My experience, when on my second visit, supposedly to replace the cast, it was determined that the bone had set incorrectly and had to be broken and then reset - not an experience I would relish in Cusco.

Is your daughter's doctor not able to make a referral to a hospital in Cucso? or at least reasearch doctors for you..

That brings up another question nobody has asked: What does your daughter's doctor think of this plan? Like I said, even the best clinic in the world is not going to touch this case without a detailed consultation with the physician who first treated it. And even then, I have my doubts that they'll be willing to do anything.

thanks for your support ! some update:

we had an x-ray and visit yesterday here in our hometowm. Everything is going fine and the bone is set correctly. We are leaving to Peru this saturday 9th and the next check should be done on 16th in Cusco but doctor said we can do it here once we are back home on 26th, no matter if the splint will be removed 10 days later ! So it looks better and do not have to spend time in Cusco for this reason.
