Buenos Aries and Montevideo
We are traveling to Argentina/Chile and begin our travels in Buenos Aries. We would like to fly to Buenos Aries and travel to Montevideo for a few nights, then return to BA to see the city and continue on with our trip. Does this seem easy to do? I've read that there is a ferry between the two cities. Appreciate any advice!

Yes, you can take the high speed ferry, Bouquebus .. I think it is 3 hours to Montevideo.

My son stayed at the Sheraton, ( I think it was) loved the view
He only stayed on night, combined with a night in Colonia.. but he did say he wished he had stayed more nights in Montevideo.

That's absolutely feasible! The ferry from Buenos Aires to Montevideo takes 3 hours,
I also recommend you visit Colonia... this is a very pinturesque town, completely different from what Buenos Aires or Montevideo are. I went a couple of weeks ago and I've fallen in love with that little town. There isn' much to do but it's really nice for you to have a rest.
Regarding the ride hotel - port - hotel or domestic airport, if you are staying in the city centre then you can just take a taxi, it will take 15 or 20 minutes approx. If you go from the hotel to the domestic aiport or from the port to the domestic airport, you can also take a taxi but this ride will take a bit longer, you should conisder at least 30 minutes

We visited both Montevideo and Colonia last year. Both were very enjoyable but we definitely preferred Colonia - a very pretty town with some nice places to stay and some great restaurant. Hire a golf buggy to see the town and its environs. Montevideo has a sort of faded elegance and the area around teh port is worth a visit just to see the vast quanties of meat being grilled every day!

We've taken the Buquebus from Montevideo to Buenos Aires. It was very comfortable. We haven't made it over to Colonia yet. If you want to read about our experience in BA and on the Buquebus, you can check out our blog post: http://blog.exploringuruguay.com/200...ut-bigger.html
