Three of us just got back from a delightful but busy 18 day tour of Argentina. We had the great help from Connie, a travel consultant from Buenos Aires( [email protected]. We covered Buenos-Aires, Iguazu Falls both Argentina and Brazil sides including a boat ride; the Northwest ( north and south of Salta); parts of Patagonia( El Calafate and El Chalten).we took internal flights between cities , had private guides/drivers in some parts and buses in Patagonia.. We flew Air Canada from Toronto to Buenos Aires with a stopover in Sao Paulo.

Argentina is an extremely diverse, beautiful country- small villages like Hornocal contrast with the beautiful European-like grand city of Buenos Aires. Altitudes from0-4510 Metres above sea level and always wonderful food.
No trip is complete without a major 24 hour general strike affecting 255 flights and 33,000 people!
We loved our trip and highly recommend Argentina as a destination. It was our first time in South America.

Looking forward to your report. Will you include photos? We have never been to South America. Seriously considering a trip for next year to include Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. We are independent travelers, but I am considering a tour for these countries since we've never been to SA. And I think I need a break from trip planning as I am currently planning 3 trips for 2026. But I might contact the travel agent you used. Does Connie plan trips for other South American countries in addition to Argentina? Thanks!

I am currently in Coyhaique so don’t have my records with me but I believe Connie is Isabel’s daughter who took over her travel business. Isabel was a great travel advisor for us on two trips to Buenos Aires-Salta-Iguazu and Buenos Aires-Bariloche- boat/bus across Andes - Puerto Varas-Puerto Montt-Punta Arenas- Torres del Paine- El Calafate- Ushuaia- Buenos Aires with great hotels and private guides and drivers.

We are also seasoned travellers and I enjoy planning trips almost as much as going on them! I believe she does neighbouring countries such as Chile and parts of Brazil but send her an email. I will message you.

I love Argentina. The natural beauties are endless there. I will be along the ride to relive some of my fondest memories.

@jft, your photos are amazing! You are right; Argentina is beautiful! I assume you were in Argentina in February and early March. What was the weather like there? I am considering either March or early April for 2027.

I admire you for kayaking! What a great backdrop! Especially love the photos of Iguaza Falls, the gauchos, and the road to Calafate.

Did you do all the driving yourself? Driving over 14000ft is not something everyone can do. Beautiful journey!

we arrived Feb 14 and left March 2. I believe March is ideal as less rainy season in northwest but I guess it depends where you want to go. Kayaking was calm and not hard. It was delightful!

we had a fantastic driver/ guide for the Salta/ Calafate/Purmamarca /Salta portion. We were lucky as it was sunny when we were on top near the mountain!
