What is the best way to get from the Airport to Fishermen's Wharf. Is there public transportation?

Are you alone or are there two or more of you? If two or more, I'd really opt for taking a taxi. It is rather involved taking public transportation, changing, etc. with luggage and with two fares it starts adding up anyway.

Check out the ground transportation on the website -- a taxi to Fisherman's Wharf goes for $44 plus tip. The door-to-door vans will cost you $14 per person - Airport Express has a $2 coupon you can print out -- I found that the other companies will accept the coupon if you ask.

The only disadvantage to the van service would be maybe a stop or two at another hotel on the way.

BART runs from the airport to Embarcadero downtown--37 minute trip.
Price: $4.95

Shuttle would be the best.

Otherwise, it's BART-Bus combo, with luggage... If very little luggage, look up on the map "reverse way" - which bus comes closer to your hotel, and then decide which BART stop is better for you. The bus system in SF is MUNI.
