What kind of travel? Domestic, international, how far from home, for what purpose?
I don't think I would until the problem is resolved. I'd want to be close to my doctors and hospital.

I have atrial fibrillation and have traveled with it many times. No particular advice, but I was never told not to travel.

My neighbor has had a procedure for it in the last year and has taken two cruises. No problems but do consult with your doc to be sure.

I've had AFib & AFlutter for the better (or worse) part of the last decade. I bring my finger puppet along with me on vacation to occasionally check my heart beat, but my doctors have never ever told me not to travel. Knock on wood, never had problems overseas, but Tracy always gets the good insurance if they need to airlift me back home (I think that affords me extra legroom, too).

A friend did a 3 week Antarctic cruise. Her cardiologist signed off on it.

Ask your own doctor.

Many of the patients I see with A-Fib - including two just this evening - have little or no symptoms other than a funky EKG so travel is not a problem. It's really a matter of your overall condition, and your best bet is to talk with your provider about what travel you have in mind to see what, if any, special precautions you need to take.

Thanks to everyone for your responses! I was diagnosed 12 years ago right before an independent trip to Australia and New Zealand with my husband. My doctor said he would not tell me to stay home, and I did fine. My husband is no longer able to travel, after our 20 years of traveling together. I wondered if a cruise would be an option for me. If I didn't feel well, I could go lie down.
Thank you,
Marsh

If you do decide to go on a cruise, be sure you have travel insurance, whether through a credit card or a purchased policy, the would cover costs of medical care onboard. it can be rather costly!
