Most romantic and secluded Honeymoon destination? Europe? Caribbean? Hawaii? Tahitti?
I am interested in hearing opinions about different travel destinations which would be ideal for a honeymoon I am planning for Feb. 2003. I have already been to Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Cancun, Aruba, Caymans, Oahu, and Maui. I loved Hawaii and Aruba because they both had a little bit of everything however, I am open to any suggestions. Money is not a factor. I am planning a 10-14 day trip.

You sound as though the tropical/beach thing is a key ingredient, is this so?
Ellen's opinion is on the same wavelength as mine. Italy is a truly wonderful place to vacation, honeymoon or otherwise. So much variety, so much history, natural beauty abounds, amazing food, somewhat exotic in places.
My two favorite areas are the Amalfi Coast (deemed by many to be the most beautiful coast in the world) and the Lakes area in/around the mountains bordering Switzerland (Lake Como, Lake Lugano, Lake Orta....cities of Bellagio, Lugano, Stresa, etc). It would be easy to do both in one trip to create a very different experience.
Sydney and the Gold Coast of Australia (with some of the great romantic island resorts up there) make a nice honeymoon trip.
The Greek Islands are beautiful but not as convenient or varied as Italy.
Thailand's resort areas (Phuket in particular) make for a very exotic tropical getaway with great beaches and world class resorts on par with those in Hawaii and Bali.

As much as the travel channel sucks these days, they just had one of those "Top Ten Places..." shows. It was the top ten most romantic places. Paris was first. Can't remember all the others, but hawaii, tahiti, Bora Bora, The Poconos, to name a few. Since they repeat constantly, you might check their website and see what they have to say.

I've been to Thailand, Australia, Fiji, France, & Italy. (most of the destinations suggested)
Took a cruise from San Francisco to Hawaii for our honeymoon - would NOT recommend that!
Of all the above choices I'd have to agree with Tahiti & Bora Bora. Absolutely beautiful, somewhat isolated because of the distance, and no obnoxious guys will pinch your wife like they did to me in Italy!!!

Llao Llao Resort in the Patagonia region of Argentina was amazing. My wife and I spent our honeymoon in the Southern Hemisphere and would recommend this unique, isolated spot. www.llaollao.com
PS: Most Americans have no idea about South America, especially Argentina
