Family of 3 with girl child aged 9, will be visiting Orlando in July for as follows

Universal for 3 nights and 2.5 days with 2 days theme park ticket

Disney world for 4 nights and 3.5 days with 3 days theme park ticket

We love theme parks and love shopping but love the big discounts & sales. My question is that should we keep an extra day to go to Orlando outlets & malls (outside WDW & Universal) for shopping with higher & bigger discounts OR should we shop from WDW as it would have almost similar discounts

And foe that shopping day should we stay AR Universal or WDW

you rarely see WDW and discount used in the same sentence.

This means i would get better discounts at the Orlando Malls and Outlets

And would it be easier to travel to these Orlando Malls and outlest from universal resorts OR WDW resorts

There are malls and outlets all over the US - trying to get to shopping in Orlando when you don't have a car seems like unnecessary stress.

Why not enjoy a little down time - there is plenty to do in the disney area without having to trek to a mall.

I recommend you save your shopping to later in your trip when you have a car.

Agree that trying to do discount shopping around Orlando is a real PIA unless you have a car. Shopping is all over the map and hauling all of those packages on public transit - which is very inconvenient there - is not a great idea.

Separately, most of the discount malls I have seen in the area are quite downscale - the sort of basic things that can be bought in every discount mall (often lower quality merchandise made just for these malls) while other areas have better malls - more upscale stores and better quality in the more usual stores.

Just about every place on your itinerary (except for in the National Park) has discount/outlet malls and just regular run-of-the-mill department stores that are in almost continual 'sales mode'. Forget shopping for your time in Orlando.

For example, there are 3 or 4 malls & outlets within 10min drive of Teaneck, NJ.

Paramus, NJ, the neighboring town to Teaneck is famous for it's several huge malls.

But since many many tourists arrive in Orlando so I thought that maybe these good medium ranged brands offer good discounts from 20-75%

Both Gap and Old Navy are famous for making lower quality goods for their outlet malls (and Old Navy is a budget seller even in regular stores) and these stores are in every outlet mall in the country.

Higher end would be more upscale stores like Coach, Fossil, Clarks, etc plus actual name designers.

You know, it's odd, but I don't consider A. Fitch a discount/outlet mall thing. Is it on the east coast maybe?

Asimm- as others have said, you can find those at any mall, but except for, say, after Black Friday I just don't see the kind of discounts you are looking for. And they are not off regular stuff anyway- even coach makes stuff specifically for their outlet store. It's not always very good quality and it's often not all that attractive (using coach as an example because it's the one I shop at the most).

There are basically 4 main shopping venues for tourists:

The 2 outlet malls have over 350 stores with everything from Coach to Levi's and everything in between.

The Florida Mall is huge and has what most big city malls have including an American Girl store and restaurant.

The Mall at Millenia is very upscale featuring dept stores (Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Macy's) as well as very upscale specialty shops (Tiffany & Co., Brooks Brothers, Gucci, Prada, Rolex, Coach, Jimmy Choo, Cartier, Chanel, Kate Spade, etc.)

Forgot to mention, if you are serious about shopping the Florida mall has a 500 room hotel located in the mall.

If you want exactly an item you have seen at Disney or a Disney store, then you really need to buy it at a Disney store or park. So buy those things at WDW.

However if you flexible on what you buy and you have a car, I would take a day out just for outlet shopping. If you are looking for high-quality items, you many not see a huge discount from the parks. But if you are willing to go with a medium quality item, you can often get good deals as they will be cheaper outside the parks and then could possibly be on clearance.

IF you don't have a car or don't like traffic congestion, I am with the person above who says just buy something in the parks. It really is the easiest way to go.
