Xmas trip ideas?
Anyone have experience or a wish trip to Latin America over the holidays?
It's appealing since it's warmer than Europe but not overrun (at least I don't think so) like the Caribbean.
We were in Costa Rica last fall and might consider it but a different country would probably be more appealing.
TIA!

My favorite country is Brazil. I have never been there for X-MAS, though i am told it is festive but crowded. Brazilians are warm, the country is spectacular and the exchange rate is extremely favorable. Moreover, Brazil does not cater to Americans so it gives the vacation a different feel. I would highly recommend it.
Last year we went to Cabo San Lucas, which was nice. Cabo San Lucas is more of a resort twon (relaxing at the pool, playing golf, etc.,) but there are great bars downtown. In December the weather is as close to perfect as you can get (80s high, 70s low and no rain) but it is expensive because they cater to American tourist.
In my opinion, Cancun has more to do then Cabo San Lucas. Not only is there great beaches, great night life etc., there are great archeological ruins nearby.
Good luck and have a great trip whereever you go.
