Puerto Vallarta
We are thinking really hard about going to Puerto Vallarta in March.
What are some of the must do's, must sees?
Should we rent a car or would it be of no value?
We originally were thinking about Belize, but the money it would take seems outrageous compared to PV.
Any pros and cons of each would be helpful as well.
Thanks

If you rent a car do just for a day to see some of the country side. Buses are great & very cheap. Cabs are plentiful & reasonable. All kinds of activities from Scuba, snorkel, Zip Line, sailing water taxis to Yelapa & much more.

You will love Puerto Vallarta! It's my favorite Mexican destination. We always use the local bus (part of the fun), but have rented a car for the day to drive into the mountains or travel to northern locations. PV is very walkable, also part of the fun. There are a wide range of activities and wonderful restaurants. Have you booked your hotel yet? Try www.vrbo.com. We have rented 3 different condos from them and loved each one. Have fun.

I've been to Puerto Vallarta many many times. LOVE it. I don't rent a car but stay downtown and walk everywhere (with a few bus rides and taxis in addition).
My must-sees/dos are low-key... walking around in El Centro, stroll the Malecon in the evenings, visit the church, days on Playa Los Muertos beach, maybe a gallery walk or home tour. But there's everything available if you want more formal activities and adventures, like ziplines, sunset cruises, snorkeling/diving/fishing boats for hire, ATV, parasailing, etc. etc.
