accomodation help for Cabo San Lucas (helping my daughter)

hello all
my daughter and her 2 friends will be visiting Cabo for 4 nights in July.
I am trying to help her find somewhere to stay and as I am really unfamiliar with area I would love some assistance in finding her somewhere good to stay (and safe)
They are all 23 years old.
Which area should she stay in, and what hotel?
The budget is about $300 - $350 per night
They have been looking at the 'Ridge', 'At Playa grande'.
Is it better to get "all inclusive"
any advice would be really appreciated.

thanks in advance

Millie- Cabo is a tricky area in that it's very spread out. The airport is 29 miles from town. There's two towns: San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. In between them is a long tourist "Corridor" along the coastline with resort hotels. Within town there aren't any all-inclusives.

Personally I would recommend they stay somewhere on Medano Beach. That's one of the few swimmable beaches in the area (most are too dangerous). And it's a 10 mins. walk into downtown for all the shopping, restaurants, etc.

So it really depends what they want. If they just want to fly in, stay on the property at an AI for their entire time, that would be one thing. Or if they want to be near town and able to get out on their own, different recommendations.

There's an incredibly helpful friendly forum for Cabo over at Trip Advisor. They completely helped me plan my 1st trip there a couple years ago.

For that age group, definitely stay in Cabo San Lucas. Medano Beach would be great for them: Pueblo Bonito Rose or Blanco, Villa del Palmar, Villa Los Arcos, ME Cabo, Casa Dorada. Playa Grande and Finisterra are also handy to the action.

Here is a link to some info:

If they stay in CSL, then I would not do AI. Bars, restaurants are all handy and more fun.

Good luck.

thank you all very much.
they will be staying in Cabo San Lucas, and are very unsure about hotels. They were looking at one but it was adults only, so maybe a bit quiet for them.
I will pass on the information.

If you post a short list of hotels they are considering, maybe we can help decide between them? Or at least comment. The most lively hotel on Medano Beach (where I think they'd want to be) is the ME. I think everyone would agree. Casa Dorado is very nice, it's the newest hotel on the beach. That's a very generous budget they should be able to get a nice place.

My personal experience was at a budget place downtown (Mar de Cortez, well under $100/night), but I walked along Medano and looked at the hotels there too.
