Which Tango show in BA

Did anyone visit El Viejo Almacen-Balcarce or Esquina Carlos Gardel Tango show including the dinner. You get better seats with dinner. Which do you recommend or none of these, can you suggest. How much are they. Thanks. Alana

We went to the tango show at El Viejo Almacen in December. It was fun if rather expensive, but I forget how much. The dinner was not the best we had in BA, but the whole experience was enjoyable and the dancers were terrific. The singers were sort lost on us because we didn't know anything about the singing aspects of tango, but the local people there knew all the songs and thought they were great. I think this is one of the more traditional tango shows, and certainly designed for tourists. The hotel recommended a more modern show at Puerto Madero, but we stuck with the older one. If I went back, I might go to one of the less expensive and more low-key ones. People on this site or another also seem to like Senor Tango.

Last May, we saw the Carlos Gardel show, with dinner. The show was fantastic, the dinner very good, but not as good as the show. Tickets were about $50.USD per person, if I recall.

Tickets to both, including dinner are 180 pesos, including everything (even the god awful house wine - bring your own, they don't mind, saves them a few pesos).

Esquina Carlos Gardel offers an excellent dinner and excellent wines. It is 25 u$s less than what it should be for the VIP places.

According to the number of guests, the Piazzolla tango offers VIP places for the standard price of 67u$s.

The price for a standard seat in almost all tango dinner show is 65 u$s including pick up.

You will enjoy them.

I know you can book online for Esquina Carlos Gardel - well, you can send them an e-mail message that you want to book, but they seem pretty good about getting back to people. I like the place too - much more of a theatrical experience than some of the others, but knowing that going in, it's great fun.

We went to Piazolla Tango, a theater with dinner and show (cena show in Spanish). It was arranged by the hotel with a couple of days in advance and it was beautiful! The location was an old theater house, so we could see everything. The dinner was fine too. I think it costed about 60 dollars each (transportation hotel-theater-hotel) included. I recommend it!
