Tango dinner shows in Buenos Aires

What is your advice on the best tango dinner show to see in BA?

I can't remember the name of the one that we saw but we just had drinks there instead of dinner. We had been advised that the dinners usually weren't great, and we were really pleased to see that we had great seats, even better than most of the diners. We were seated at a bar that was slightly elevated, so we were able to see over the heads of the diners - it was perfect!

we went to cafe tortoni, one of the oldest clubs in BA ( or so i was led to believe!) we chose the smaller room on the ground floor and got a seat right at the front, just feet from the dancers. They didn't serve dinner there but a bottle of Malbec was a good substitute. I believe they have a larger room which does serve dinner downstairs.

we really enjoyed it. some of our photos here

I enjoyed Tango Madero. Great chorizo steak, view and show.

I also went to Café Tortoni, enjoyable show. Had a steak sandwich at the café before and then just wine at the show.

I also enjoy the show, upstairs, in Cafe Tortoni....downstairs the show includes comedy in Spanish, so, unless you are rather fluent, you would likely be happier upstairs.

We also like La Ventana for a full some show...and while the food is a cut above some of the truly awful Tango Show fare, dinner before or after the show, in a restaurant, is much to be preferred.

I went to the Carlos Gardel tango show. Whilst I thought the food was 'just good', the show itself was very good, but the room was quite big and I was lucky to be near the front but was seated side on to the stage.

I think I would have preferred something smaller and more intimate.
