Where's the best Mexican weather in Dec/Jan?

Looking for next year's Christmas to get away from certain relatives. Will travel with 2 young children. Looking for warmth and sunshine. I love the Mayan Riviera, but fear that it will be chilly and wet. We have never done the all-inclusive thing, would be willing to consider if the food is authentic and great. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

All the Mexican beach resort areas have the perfect climate during the winter. It is the dry season, so very minimal chances of rain. Temperatures range in the high 70's to 90's most places. The Riviera Maya has wonderful weather during the winter. Also the Pacific coast is great. Puerto Vallarta is definitely a nice place for families and Ixtapa is very nice also.

How hot do you want it ?!!!

If you want 95 F plus, then go to Huatulco.

Otherwise any of the other places will have good weather.

While I love Vallarta myself, I don't believe the Caribbean side will be "chilly and wet" in those months. Where did you get that idea?

Thank you all so much. I'm not sure where I got the idea that the Carib side would be chilly and wet. Probably from reading one or two trip reports where it rained. And Percy, Huatulco sounds perfect. Thanks again. We'll see what I can talk my husband into.

When I was in Huatulco last January it was between 95 F to 105F...Whew!!!

A month later when I went to Puerto Vallarta, it was about 80F ( but the early mornings were chilly,we got up for breakfast at 6:30 AM )

It is much easier walking about and doing tours when it is 80F .

If you want a tan and just relax by the pool...then I would go to Huatulco for sure.
