You've got tons of choices in Tamarindo, so all you're going to get from any travel board are personal favorites. Mine?

Hotel Zullymar is affordable, breakfast is not included though.

If you choose them, request a room with A/C, if not they may book a room with a fan.

Go to www.visittamarindo.com and click on accomodations or lodging and there are all these little hotel icons to hit on with links to their websites. We stayed at Capitan Suizo but it was pricey - yet worth it due to being RIGHT on the beach, and an 8 minute walk from Tamarindo, so it is peaceful. Their property is GORGEOUS and of course you are welcome to check it out - I wish you would - You may want to go back to Tamarindo just because of Hotel Capitan Suizo - we will!!!! Pura Vida

I agree, Capitan Suizo is probably one of your best options. You can also consider Calaluna hotel.
