When should I book domestic airfare

I'll be going in November to several places in Argentina and would like to use a agent-(suggestions-please). How far in advance should I email an agent to help me. Thanks. Alana

November is a very demanded month. my recommendation is to book the air tickets as soon as possible. but more important is to book the hotels as there are many areas where it will be difficult to find the nicest hotels.i.e Peninsula de Valdez.
good luck and enjoy Argentina

I use Mayra Brill, email [email protected]

She is frequently mentioned on travel various travel boards. Unlike some agents, she will accept Credit Card payments. Western Union is the more common form of advance payment, and this is expensive and risky to trust yor money to someone you have never met half way round the world.

I have started to look for a hotel and find that many have no rooms -I find that quite odd, so I'll keep looking. CanMayra find a hotel for under 100 US dollars. Thanks. Alana

Alana,

RE: The problem you have encountered with hotels being full this far in advance. My hunch is you have been 1. looking at on-line travel sites. Many times the hotels do not make their inventory available to these sites for dates beyond a few months out.....try the hotel direct, by email or phone, and you may find availability.

2. Prices above or below U$100: Prices vary by season and location. As Milla mentions, November is a popular month....and rates in some locations will be high season. This being said, Mayra or another reputable agent should be able to find rates below $100 in Buenos Aires, Iguazu, Salta, and Bariloche. Rates are generally higher in Patagonia than in other parts of Argentina, but if you are willing to step down a quality level or two, this should be manageable too....

Thanks dawggy. I am starting to email the hotels directly. I have my plane ticket (FF points). You're correct about the travel sites, a lot of hotels say no room availability-which I find strange. Thank you. I will email them directly, and will contact Mayra.
thanks again. Alana

Alana, I am going the same time as you. I am using Cintia with WOW! Argentina to plan my travel. She has suggested buying domestic tickets now as she anticipates the rates will rise immediately after Easter.
