Weather in Cancun in September?

Hi - i would like to travel to cancun in late september for a vaction but not sure of the weather. Would i be going during hurricane season?

The height of the hurricane season ... maybe you'll get lucky, maybe not.

Cancun in Sept too. I hope we both get lucky.

We used to go to west coast resorts, especially Cabo but also to Mazatlan, Vallarta and Acapulco, to fish for marlin in August and September and figured we had a 1-in-4 chance any given week of having a storm pass by close enough to mess up the fishing (or worse). We had a couple of close shaves in Acapulco but never got hammered.

I'll bet it's similar odds in the Yucatan.
