Visit to Estancia ranch
We are on a tour to South America which spends 5 days in Buenos Aires (actually one day we go to Uruguay). One of the days we are taken to a typical Estancia ranch for a full-day tour. Should we do that or would we better off really seeing Buenos Aires. The visit to the ranch is on a Sunday & I know there are all kinds of street markets then. Any comments would be helpful. Thanks.

Does the fact that a venue caters to tourists make it not worthwhile? The answer may well vary from individual to individual, but what most estancia visits offer is a glimpse into estancia and gaucho life...dressed up slightly and marketed to tourists. The food is plentiful, there are horses to ride, the "estancia" house is usually available to tour, the gauchos put on a nice display of horsemanship. If you are looking for a fun way to pass the day, escaping the hustle and bustle of the big city....an estancia tour fits the bill.
If you want a day riding horses on a working ranch, try estancia Losdoshermanos
