Side Day Trip from Buenos Aires
Thinking of going to Buenos Aires 2nd week in June and will be there for 6 nights (first time to Argentina). Can anyone recommend a 1 day side trip (no overnight) to go from Bs. As.?

a few alternatives :
a) Estancias . Good option if you enjoy horse riding , asados (BBQ)
b) Tigre Delta Boat Tour ( Private or Public ; expensive / cheap).
c)Colonia in Uruguay. Interesting and relaxing
d)Polo Ranch. If you enjoy Polo . Have a class of it.

June is cold in argentina. one of the coldest months. anyway not as cold as the winter in the usa. Warm up and enjoy Tigre. wonderful places. good outing. Santiago in the forum runs a Boat Tour, as far as i know, very reliable people.
Colonia is for a day tour. get the fast one on the way to go and relax on the way back on the slow one. Whole day, interesting city for the ones who
enjoy colonial style, and quite affordable.
Estancia the variety is so big. from the fiesta gaucha that includes everything but also too many people to
the very tranquil atmosphere of a traditional one.(that means from u$s 35 to 80)

You didnt ask for restaurants, after you get tired of BBQs (Too many BBQ restaurants to recommend!) Try a nice neighbourhood for restaurants , Palermo Soho . Very nice small Hotels boutiques , restaurants and shops .
Both Tigre delta and Colonia are nice tours, Martin Garcia Island might be a good option too.

We went to Colonia for the day in Feb. and rented scooters right where you will get off the boat. It was cheap and the best decision we made. It was so much fun to be able to zip around! There is little car traffic so I felt very safe and normally this is not something I would ever do! Come to think of it, we didn't even have helmets! But it was a so much fun. They also rent golf carts and mountain bikes (even though we are very fit I think the mountain bikes would have been too much for the day). Colonia is a beautiful and laid back town. Enjoy!
