visa for Brazil

Does anyone know when a visa for those arriving in Brazil by cruise ship was first required.I think that Oceania cruises may have been giving us incorrect information about this and want to find out the truth.

No matter which way you enter Brasil you will need a tourist visa.

If you do noy have it then when you arrive in a Brasilian port and they have immigration officers there to check your visa they will not allow you on land, you will have to stay on the ship(if your lucky).

So if this is the case for you it is your responsibility to get all the proper documentation you need, contact your local Brasilian consulate and find out what you need and pay the $100 for each visa.

You must get visa. I needed one to change planes because I had to leave one terminal and go to another.

For Visa info to Brazil call...
202-387-0300. It cost me $280. YIKES!

Call this number and a person will answer all your questions... you won't even be put on hold.

Unfortunately the rules for Brazil visas have become more strict. Some say this is due to America's policies for Brazilians coming here getting more strict as well. Brazils retaliation I guess.
