Vacation in Playa del Carmen for two guys

After looking into Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and Playa del Carmen a friend and I are trying to plan a trip to Playa del Carmen. We're both single and in our early 30's. Does anyone have a hotel they can recommend that's nice and is fun? (ie...a place that's more singles than families/couples). We'd like to stay right in the middle of things and be able to go out and be with other singles (women in particular). If anyone has any insights/suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Deseo looks very hip and single, centrally located. Mosquito Blue looks nice too.

And if you want to stay on the beach...Blue Parrot.

Aren't there two girls looking in PDC also on this board?

Definitely Deseo if you are not light sleepers. Blue Parrot is pretty loud also. Mosquito Blue or Lunata in town for very nice but not too expensive.

On beach, Alhambra, Playa Maya, El Faro.

right in the middle of things is Posada Freud.
So cheap. Ask for room ten.
about 40-50 bucks a night for a big double with fridge for beer and a great balcony. Nice staff. Cute clean. No pool.

Get ready for music till 1 am

The Blue Parrot was right near the beach, and had lots of 20 and 30 somethings hanging around the outdoor bar. Not the most quiet place, but it looked great for singles. PDC is one of the few places I've been to that's great for both the singles crowd, and for families as well.
