leblon is not as noisy as ipanema. If the mar is right across the street from the beach day and night its noisy from the cars and buses. So is Visconte Piraja. EXTREMEly noisy. I stayed in a flat right on the corner. I'm used to the noise though since I'm from NY! Ipanema you are more near restaurants and expensive shopping. Leblon I've never stay in that area but it seems quiet when I passed by there on the bus. If you want peace and quiet, i'd stay in barra. but then its far from copa and ipanema

Hello.......
I recommend the Hoteis Vermont right on Rua Visconde de Piaraja.
e mial [email protected]
fax 2267-7046
It is on Rua Visconde de Piraja, right next o stores, reataurants and Feria Hippie is only 1 block away.
Beach is 2 blocks away.
Hotel is very clean, safe and breakfast included for $ 55.00 per night , double room.
Bon Viaje...

I have stayed at the Ipanema Inn. I think it's a great choice.
A half-block from the beach in Ipanema. Near, but not on (-a plus), Visconte Piraja and many restaurants, etc.
And still walking distance to Copa and Leblon.
It's reasonably priced and in a great location that's near much but not too noisy.
[ I have not stayed at the other hotels. ]
Enjoy.
