The Italian/Pizza restaurant is located in Quepos on the corner of a side street. I'll have to check later today at some of our old Fodor's books to see what the actual name of it is. Will post it later today if I get a chance.

What a great report. I've looked at Gaia a couple times but never opted it, appreciate your honest review.
Brings a smile to my face when you say meeting Kevin and you know BdC will be great. He is such a great guy, as are all of the staff. All those showers but no dips in Mariposa's tub? I actually only used it once but it was lovely just relaxing there and looking up at the monkeys & trees. It really sounds like you had a great time, makes me look forward to mine in May all anew (3rd time to BdC but 1st time to Peace Lodge). Isn't it amazing how you wake up at the crack in CR so easily, probably has to do with those early nights and monkey wake-up calls.
And to whomever mentioned flashlights....definitely yes! Especially at places like BdC where there is no ambient light dark means pitch dark. I usually bring 2-3 flashlights and next trip I;m planning to bring a headlamp as well.

The Italian Restaurant in Quepos is called La Lanterna. According to the Fodor's 2005 book, it is on the southwest corner of the Quepos waterfront. If I remember correctly, it is down the same street as the fire department. If you drive around Quepos (which is not a very large town) you can't miss it.
