1 week at los suenos to fish, see the MA park and maybe play a little golf.3 days in arenal to hike and zipline.2 days in Alajuela area, one of which I hope to spend at Poas.We will consider Monteverde, but we haven't made up our minds yet. Any recommendation? We were going to stay at Peace Lodge, but sorry to hear about that. I'll check a few days ahead to see if anything changes. We would love to support them. I only wish I had another week.3 weeks seems like a fair time to see most of the area. Thanks for asking.

If you're in the Alajuela area, you may be able to do a rafting trip on the Pacuare, which is one of the highlights of the entire country. You'd have to check with your hotel and the tour operator.

Monteverde is definitely worth seeing--that's where the whole zipline thing got started. But, I don't know that trying to sandwich it between Arenal and Alajuela for two nights would be the best option.

Well, have a wonderful trip. I think I'm Arenal's number one fan. If you make it to Monteverde, Fonda Vela has some new junior suites that are nice and affordable. If you get a chance, do a night hike at Hidden Valley. Have fun!
