Spring Break (avoidance) advice
I'm thinking of splitting a stay between the Royal Hideaway in the Playa area (4 nights) and Le Meridien in Cancun (2 nights). My thinking is that I don't want to spend RH prices for 6 nights, plus a slight change of scenery would be interesting for a 6-night trip. The catch - the only time I can go is the third week of March, right in the middle of Spring Break season. I know that Le Meridien is a bit south of the most congested area of Cancun (and that there's some wave action on that section of beach, which is one of the reasons I want to stay there) -- but is it far enough south to avoid the throngs of partying college kids? Since I'm only going to stay there two days, I'm not really planning to venture off the property (I'll do that at RH); just interested in sitting by the pool and on the beach and watching and listening to the waves for two days. Will I be able to do that pretty much in peace? Thanks!

Most of the college kids stay at the affordably priced AIs...stay mostly at the resort during the day to get their $$$-worth of alcohol and head off to the clubs at night (Senor Frog's, etc.). I think you are safe with your choices!!
I was so relieved last year when most of the college kids on our flight headed north, while we headed south for Playa del Carmen!!
