There was ok snorkeling at Cano Island, but that requires a trip to the Osa. Huge turtles, large rays, quite a few fish, not much coral. Visibility was pretty good. Certainly not as good as Belize.

We stayed at Aguila de Osa, loved the place. Great food, fun staff. We did a jungle hike to Corcovado one day and to Cano Island the other day we were there. They had kayaks available. Night hikes offerred too. We flew to Palmar Sur, took a cab to Sierpe, then by boat down the river and out into the Pacific. One of those trips where getting there is half the fun.
We were there in February, sunny every day.

Kayaks and snorkel gear can be rented right on the beach in Playa Hermosa at Aquasport...1/2 way down the beach.
You can also book a small boat to take you to local snorkel locations or go on sailing/snorkeling tours.
