SmarTours ARGENTINA Tour
Has anyone taken or is anyone familiar with the smarTours Argentina/Chile tour. If so, is it worthwhile? Can you recommend a better one?
I plan to go in either September or October of this year and want to start making plans.
Thanks,
Judy

Friends of ours took the smarTours South American Odyssey tour 1 1/2 years ago, and loved it. Consequently, my husband and I have signed up to take it in late October. This will be our 4th smarTours tour; we've had great experiences with that company.

We took this tour in end Jan/early Feb '01. It was great but I do have a word of advice - take a warm coat! Even in summer (there) it was rainy and cold crossing the Andes and in Bariloche, although the days before had been nice. (of course, I did get a new sweater coat from the vendors out of the experience
. Also, get up at dawn at the falls - it was great!!!

Perhaps I will change to October also since I hear it is a better time of the year to travel to Argentina/Chile. The only smarTours I took was to VietNam/Cambodia. I also thought they do a wonderful job. Perhaps we will meet.
Best Wikshes.

Called smarTours to sign up for late October, but believe it or not they were filled so I had to take November 9th.
My only worry is that we will be jumping around too much for 16 days and will be unable to see anything in depth.

We just booked the S. America trip with Smartours for Nov 9. Wanted to go in October, but could not get confirmation for the add-on from NY. We have used Smartours twice before. Did Australia, New Zealand and Fiji with them a couple years ago and did Borneo with them last October. Hotels and guides were excellent. Looking forward to meeting the group. Any idea how large it is? The October group held 42.

GailMarie,
I think I still have my reservation, but haven't sent in my deposit because I am a little reluctant to do so much in such a short period of time. No matter where I look smarTours still seems to be the best bet for group tours.
Do you have any other ideas for Argentina?
