Should we cancel or should we go?
Hello all. After months of planning a romantic anniversary trip to Cabo San Lucas with my husband in July, I must say after reading everything that is going on with border control and violence, I am little worried about going to Cabo San Lucas. Any thoughts on this?

I can't speak specifically of Cabo San Lucas, because I live on the Island of Roatan Honduras. I can tell you that in the three years I've lived here (originally from Canada http://roatanvortex.com/about-me/ ) I've known of many people who have cancelled their dream vacation to Roatan because the "news" says it isn't safe to visit Honduras. Remember that to sell the story they will try to make it look worse than it may be. We watched with frustrated fascination as CNN (to name one) warned people about what was going on here last year, while on Roatan tourist based businesses needlessly suffered. Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't monitor situations, but definitely ask questions of the ones who really know; through this forum and searching out people who are on-sight. And always consider that you have to take what the "news" says, with a grain-of-salt.

Are you flying? If yes Cabo San Lucas is perfectly safe. It does not now, never did, have any of the violence which is around the *border* towns which is 1000 miles away. I keep up with Cabo on several internet forums. There has never been any problem for tourists there.
I might hesitate about doing a road trip crossing the US border or driving around isolated areas at this time, but flying in is OK.
