Scuba accomodations?
I am planning on a trip to Belize this December. I'm looking at splitting 1 week-10 days between Beach and inland. I'm looking at Cha Creek and Turtle Inn, with perhaps a night at La Lancha. I have a few questions:
- Is La Lancha close enough to Tikal to view it at sunset?
- Is Cha Creek on the same level as Blancaneaux?
- My husband and I are certified scuba divers, although not with a ton of experience. I keep reading that the Atolls have the best diving- is Turtle Inn close enough to do this at least 2 days? Should I stay somewhere else closer to Atolls?
Thanks!

All great choices. La Lancha is about 35 mins from the site and they offer sunset and sunrise guided tours of the site. CC and BL are on a similiar scale. CC is in tropical forest along a river, BL in pine forest along a creek. CC is coser to Tikal, BL closer to Caracol. TI does not offer dives to the atolls, but offers divng on the reef 19 miles from shore. You can more easily access the atolls from Ambergris Caye or by staing at one of the lodges on the atoll dedicated to diver, snorkelers and anglers.

Thank you for your quick reply!
Would it make sense to split 5 days between TI and Ambergris Caye? Can you suggest a luxurious place to stay? I'd really love a place that has rooms right over the water. I know that the current Frommers guide has a picture of this on their cover- but where is it??

You cold rent a vehicle. Hywys are paved and well marked. The Placencia road where turtle Inn is is usually a bumpy mess. You would rent a golf cart on Ambergris. Yes, you could split your trip between two beach locations, dive two different areas. None of these have over water rooms, I think that pixs is of St. Georges Lodge on St George caye.
