hi faithie,
Funny - our first time here was also in 1991. We stayed at El Colibri (which is now something else La Plantacion, I think..) which was at that time owned by a Pierre from Quebec.
Dos Locos is right in downtown Quepos - across the street from the bus station - next door to Escalofrio. Vera has been the owner for at least 10 years. Before that it was several things - George's and also for a while Margarita Bills. Over the years you could find us at the same places - Plinio, Barba Roja, Karolas.. Who knows, maybe we even rubbed shoulders somewhere along the line. Can't believe that it has been more than 15 years that we have been coming down.
We have known Peter for several years. Since he has a brother living in Winnipeg, there is some kind of connection..
Pura Vida,
raquel

Hey! We stayed at the same place in '91(El Colobri) So much cuter then, with a beautiful view over to La Mariposa which at that time was the only building you could actually see sticking out of the jungle.... A troop of howlers woke us up each am RIGHT next to the little villa. LOUD.

Margarita Bills was also located on the corner near the parque where Sargento Garcias is now. raquel: was it at Dos Locos too? I didn't know that! You guys probably remember German Albert from Plinios? He did the German Bkfts. He's doing that again at Bamboo Jam on Sundays. He also cooks at Wacky Wanda's Bar Central each Wednesday. Weiner Schnitzel (sp?) and authentic German potato salad for ¢3,000. Really yummy! Lisa

Lisa,
We may be confused about Margarita Bills now that you mention it. The 2 for 1 margaritas he used to have at Happy Hour could have that effect..
I think I do remember it being where Sargent Garcias is. Its all a blur. We did meet Bill himself a couple of times.
I remember Albert. WE did eat at Bambu Jam last week - however did not make it to the schnitzel event though we had see the sign up about it at the Chino.
