Hi Suze I feel like you are my other Puerto Vallarta person who loves it as much as I do. Just got back on Sunday was wonderful went w.2 other couples it was their first time they loved it. Even though we have been going for 16yrs sometimes 2x a yr we never get tired of how beautiful it really is. Tried a new restaurant this time called Vista Grille was recommended by a friend I met on the Internet who now goes to P.V. as well now. What a great place but very expensive. Was worth it!
Also stayed at the Marriott I think it is the best hotel in Puerto Vallarta for beauty, service, food, maid service I can't say enough about it, LOVED IT!!!! However we are going back in Novemeber for the wedding of our friend's daughter in the next town of Ixtapa and we will be staying at the Sheraton which is much closer to town. Nice to talk to you!!! When are you going back?

frankie, I only stayed at the Marriott one time (Alaska Air put us up there on vouchers when they couldn't get our flight out). It *is* a beautiful hotel. Love the pool area. But yes for me it would be much too far from downtown. I like the 'southside' and walk everywhere I go. And is too expensive as well (for my budget) both rooms and restaurant. That said, I would *absolutely* recommend it though, especially for someone new to PV, or in anyway hestitant about visiting Mexico.
butsey, for various reasons I've been going to Hawaii the past couple winter vacation trips (i'm nearly embarrased to admit to you all).

Hi Suze,
I too love the south side, and PV's such a great walking town. But my kids want a pool, and a beach, so it's a tough choice in PV!
Still not even sure if we'll go to PV or Riviera Maya this year, or even go at all!
Don't worry, I won't blast you for going to Hawaii! There are worse places

To Suze & Frankie I agree that the Marriott is too far away from town we only went into town once w/our friends and one evening alone I too love being where the action is. I have to admit though the hotel was fantastic. We did love the Camino Real but are afraid to try Dreams just yet that was a lovely location best beach!!! I also do like the Sheraton and it is much closer to town we are going back in Nov for a wedding and then in January we are going to Riviera Maya to the Royal Hideaway I no longer prefer to go to Cancun I just don't like it any more so we are trying the Riviera Maya in January. That will be it for awhile we need to save money spending it too fast, we are addicted to Mexico can't live there though would miss my children and grandchildren too much. Nice talking to you!!! Seems we all love Mexico!!!!

We stayed at the Marriott in Feb. and loved it. Best facilites we've seen in ages, nice beach great pool. It's a
5-6 minute walk to the bus stop and a 4 peso bumpy ride into town. Bus ride takes about 20 minutes, but it's full of American and Canadian visitors who are eager to share their experiences exchange info on restuarants etc. A taxi costs $5.00 and takes about 5 minutes less, is just a bumpy, and they never turn on the AC.
