Puerto Vallarta questions

Do I need special adaptor plugs for using a hair dryer in PV? I have an unlocked cell phone for worldwide use - will I need it in PV? How about a Sim card? Also, suggestions for restaurants and sightseeing will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Electric in Mexico is the same as the US. If it has 3-prongs you might want an adaptor for 2-prongs. Sorry, don't know about cell phones.

What part of town are you staying in? Restaurant recommendations are different for Nuevo, the Marina, hotel zone, or if you are in El Centro and the Old Town.

You can get a SIM card from TelCel for about 230 pesos, which includes 50 pesos of air time.

FYI INFO The 2 to 3 prong adapter plugs in the US will NOT WORK in Mexico because they now have the two different sized "safety" plugs. Wait & buy them in Mexico as I had to. I purchased 8 for 40 pesos or about 50 cents each.
PS This is nw this year.

Thanks for the info. I will get the plugs in PV. I also found out that I can get internationally dialing on my cell phone (verizon) and that I can also roam and call to the US if I need to. I will save the phone and SIM for Europe!.Thanks!
