They are all very nice resorts.
Barcelo de Mismaloya just made #3 on a 10 best list of Mexican resort on the Travel Channel this weekend (I was surprised to see because this review has had mixed reviews over the past couple years).
Dreams is the old Camino Real and sits on its own beach about 5 mins. to the south of the south-side of Puerto Vallarta (so convenience by bus or taxi to Old Town).
GCP is very popular with a certain loyal crowd of return guests. It's the most resorty of your list. On Trip Advisor, besides the hotel reviews section, check the Forum (message boards like this one) under Puerto Vallarta. There is a dedicated group of posters there who go to GCP every year.
(I'd pick Dreams myself.)

Thanks for your help suze. It is so hard reading reviews because there are just as many positive ones as negatives. We stayed at Iberostar in Riviera Maya and loved it. We are looking for nice beach and will go into town for a couple meals. But will probably want to relax without our kids most of the time. Do you know if any of these have entertainment/activities onsite?
