Puerto Vallarta Boutique hotel

Hi
My OH and I have booked to go to PV for 6 nghts start Nov. We like being able to walk out to a variety of lively bars and restaurants. Im a wee bit confused as to where is the best area to find this. We have been looking at Hacienda San Angel but other posters say its very noisy?
And are the buses from Marina and Nuevo very frequent? Is it just as convenient to stay in these areas??
And if so can you recommend a spa type luxury hotel with pools and bars in these areas
thx a lot
kirsty

It is fairly convenient to stay in the Marina, because that's only ~15 mins. from downtown.

IMO it is not convenient to stay in Nuevo, if being in town is what you are interested, because it is more like 30-45 mins. drive to the north and you definitely won't be "able to walk out to a variety of lively bars and restaurants" staying way out there.

I would stick with something closer in myself, but that's because I LOVE puerto vallarta, and only like to stay somewhere that I can easily walk to everything because that's how I spend most of my days.

People's ideas of "luxury" are different so these may or may not be what you have in mind.

Noisy at San Angel ?
Only the church bells, otherwise it's in a very quiet area.

This place is quite close to "old town", about a 15 min. walk along the beach or a couple of minutes on bus/taxi. Very quiet and peaceful.
