Poas, a must see or not?
We're rafting the Pacuare, going to Arenal, Manuel Antonio and back to the Central Valley our last night to stay at Vista del Valle.
I was thinking of visiting Poas and the Doka estate our last day in CR before a 3:50 flight, but that means leaving the hotel by 9:00 am...my husband thinks he just wants to relax and not be rushed so we decided to hang out at Vista del Valle for the morning and stop at Doka before the flight.
My question is this, will we regret not going to Poas? It will cost us another $30 to drive up there. Do you consider it a must-see if we're in the Central Valley? Bear in mind we will have spent 2 days at Arenal.
Thanks.

We skipped it on our last trip because we just didn't have time and had already seen Arenal. We figured there's no guarantee to see it since it's often socked in by fog. We're planning to see it next trip when we have more time, but if you'll feel rushed, I think it's okay to skip.

I do feel a little bit like we missed out on it because everyone talks about Poas so much; that's why we've scheduled it in for our next trip. If you do decide to go, go early for the best chance to see it.
Percy, you're brave to do the waterfall hike; we got halfway down, and it was getting to be such a straight vertical drop and was so slick, we chickened out. That made the Waterfall Gardens seem like a breeze!

Yes.... I climbed all the way down!!!
It is not easy going down those ladders ,but with the noise of the falls getting louder and louder...I had to keep going down to the bottom.
Also, you can walk over to the falls and be right beside them and look aaaalllllll the way down and see the falls from the top to the bottom ..but don't fall over ..!!

I've been to poas and I definetly enjoyed it. I say if youre there go. Also you might want to consider it because of weather. I was told that arenal is often covered in clouds and very hard to see. I was lucky and got to view both.I say: Go for it!
