Please help with Christmas Week Buenos Aires / Lake District itinerary!

I've got an itinerary, but now I'm second guessing and would appreciate some help answering these questions.

I'm wondering what will / won't be open December 24th and 25th in the city? If we take a ride in the Tigre delta, will it be very mosquito-y? Anyone have a website for these boats; I'm wondering if they run on the 31st. Is this a good excursion for teens??

Right now, our itinerary is:
12/22-26 BsAs
12/26-12/1 Villa La Angostura
12/1 San Isidro

For two reasons, I'm thinking of changing this itinerary. One, I'm wondering if BsAs will kind of be shut down at Christmas and two, we can spend two nights in our first choice VLA hotel if we go earlier.

So, the itinerary would become:
12/22-12/24 BsAs
12/24-12/31 VLA
12/31 - 1/2 San Isidro

i can't seem to find hotels in BsAs over New Year's! We also have a friend out in SI we can visit, and plus a day in the Tigre, depending on answers above!!

thanks all for your help!

I should mention that DH and I have both been to BsAs before and will be traveling with three older teens. Our interests in the city would be shopping, food, maybe some museums, and just catching the vibe. Probably a tango show one night. I realize that changing the itinerary really shortchanges the city for my kids, but if it's pretty quiet and closed up on the 24th and 25th, then we might be better off at the Lake!

At that time of the year, I would choose the second itinerary.

There is something wrong with the dates of the first itinerary, but I believe I understand.

Have a great time in our country with your kids.

Avrooster, i assume you're voting for second itinerary because not much will be open in BsAs?

Well, that is a factor, plus the weather should be nice in VLA, but it could be quite warm in BA.
