That was my first thought too schmerl. Do you want to live there, visit, drive through or within, find accommodations, beach clubs, etc.?
Here's my comment: I love it there and am waiting impatiently to get back. I have lived there part time for five years. Be back in March. I watch the webcam of my beach every morning that I'm not there with my coffee. Ok, that was a couple of comments. : )

We've passed through or stayed near twice in the last 8 months; my photos with blog and traveler links are below. Happy trails!

We've been going to the Riviera Maya for many years, and usually spend a few days in Playa del Carmen. For a desination that combines a great beach along with a lively, touristy vibe, Playa is great.

We've been to Playa del Carmen 3 times and to the Yucatan Peninsula 10 times all together. Our last trip to Playa del Carmen was this past December. Love the vibe, the snorkeling and walking down 5th Avenue. Here's our pictures if interested: http://community.webshots.com/user/kvrlvn
